Rick Scarpello

Co-Founder | Chief Executive Officer

Rick Scarpello knows what it takes to turn a good recipe into a product people can count on. Before co-founding Medically Correct, he built his career in commercial food production with companies including Il Fornaio Bakeries and Udi’s, where he helped develop the gluten-free bread that changed expectations for the category.

That experience shaped Medically Correct from the beginning. Rick brought an understanding of food safety, production efficiency and the people and systems needed to make products consistently at scale. He also delivered the company’s very first medical brownies himself.

As CEO, Rick has guided Medically Correct through more than fifteen years of changing regulations, new product launches and an evolving cannabis market. His work helped establish incredibles as a nationally recognized brand and continues through the development of Nové, Quiq and Funnzees.

His entrepreneurial interests extend beyond cannabis. He co-created Scarpellos, a frozen focaccia dough company carrying his family name and reflecting the same belief that convenience should never mean settling for a lesser product.

Rick’s approach is practical: understand the food, improve the process and build a team that can deliver.

Derek Cumings

Co-Founder | Inventor & Product Innovator

Derek Cumings makes things. Recipes, equipment, packaging and the occasional idea that needs all three built from scratch.

His path into Colorado’s cannabis industry began as a medical patient and entrepreneur. After helping establish one of the state’s earliest licensed dispensaries, he became a co-founder of Medically Correct. In 2011, his chocolate bars helped turn the company’s bakery beginnings into the confection kitchen that would become known for incredibles.

Derek’s work has always crossed disciplines. He developed The Incredible Extractor, a commercial closed-loop extraction system, and helped build the company’s award-winning extraction work. In the kitchen, his involvement reaches from formulation and equipment engineering to package design and the practical details of getting a finished product onto shelves.

That hands-on approach continues through Nové and Funnzees. Each gives him room to combine familiar flavors with new formats, drawing on more than fifteen years of experience making cannabis products in Colorado.

For Derek, an idea earns its place when it works in the real world: it tastes right, can be made consistently and gives people a reason to come back.
